The house was packed at the 9:30 Club on a Monday night as the Tooth and Nail tour came through town. Anberlin played second-to-last, just before co-headliners Emery and after three other bands: The Fold, The Classic Crime, and Jonezetta. The show was longer than crap with five bands each having between thirty minutes and an hour to play. The highlight of the show was definitely Anberlin’s performance, which was completely nuts. Emery has like 42 band members, and half of them stand around and do nothing the whole time. They also like throwing their equipment around and getting up on tall things and then NOT jumping off of them, but stepping back down carefully instead. They also have some really gay lyrics that are the ultimate in cheese-tasticness, so I didn’t really enjoy their show all that much. Overall because of the other bands that played instead of letting Anberlin play for five hours straight, I give the show a 3.0 on the scale of Cripes’y awesomeness. If it had been just Anberlin the score would surely be higher.
