Another amazing Anberlin show at the 9:30 Club. This time Bayside opened up for them (two other bands, Jonezetta and Meg + Dia played too, but we didn’t get there until after their sets). Bayside is a pretty good band and I thought they played well, but you just can’t compare to Anberlin for a great repertoire of songs and a fantastic, energetic performance. Lead singer Stephen Christian is definitely a little eccentric on stage, and it’s pretty rare to see such good musicianship while the band rocks out so much at the same time. They could’ve probably played any of their songs in any order and it would’ve been a great show, but they played a good mix of material from their newest and previous albums with maybe one or two tunes from their first. If these guys ever come into your town, see them. You’ll not regret it.
