Battle Engine: Aquila
Published by Jayboy75 July 16th, 2004 in Games, Reviews.Wow… if the future is like this, it’s going to kick some major buns. The Battle Engine: Aquila is an all-purpose war robot that can convert itself from a land-walking, death-dealing machine to a jet-propelled aircraft.
The premise is that water has swallowed most of the planet Allium’s land masses, and two warring tribes are in a constant fight to take as much territory as they can. One tribe, the Forseti, develop the Battle Engine as a new technology, and as you pilot the craft in various pulse-pounding missions, the tables begin to turn against the diabolical Muspell tribe.
As you progress through the game, you get weapon upgrades that let you blow even more enemy scum out of the air, land, or sea. After awhile you have your choice of several different models, each with its own array of torpedos, lasers, grenades, mines, and other sweet gear like that.
BE:A gets a 4.5 on the richter scale of awesomeness that is the SweetCripes.com rating system. It would get a 5 but I’m stuck on this super-hard mission right now so I don’t know if the ending of the game is any good.
