Final Fantasy X

Can you believe it’s been so long since the very first FF title, back in the heyday of the Nintendo gaming system? Final Fantasy X really breaks the mold all over again with stunning graphics, intuitive gameplay and an incredibly detailed storyline. The downfall of this game, if anything, is the extremely lengthy video clips. In some areas it seems like you’re watching a movie rather than playing a video game, the stupid things are so long.

I’m also not a big fan of the typical “save when you get the chance” setup, where you can’t save your game at any time but instead you have to play through until you reach a save point. That’s just personal preference though. There are tons of weapons, a really unique system for getting skills and character advancements, and lots of different people you can add to your party. Not to mention the fact that you can play Blitzball, a futuristic sport that’s a cross between hockey, soccer and swimming.

FFX is a sweet game, but I’m really not a fan of overusing video clips in a video game, so I’m going to give it a 3.5 out of 5 exclamations on the awesomeness scale.
