Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

The reason I got Playstation 2 was because of this game. The scene: 1980’s Miami (the City of Vice, hence the name). You’re Tommy Vercetti, a remorseless ex-con who’s just taken a trip down south. You’ve fallen on hard times when a drug deal gone wrong puts you in debt - a million dollars’ worth. You make your way around the city by stealing cars, trucks, helicopters, motorcycles, golf carts, tanks, mo-peds, and just about anything else that moves.

In this game you can do every illegal thing you’ve ever wanted to do, and most of the time you get away with it. There are tons of weapons, lots of vehicles, and dozens of missions to get you in the money. The goal of the game is basically to take over the entire city by buying houses and businesses, and then generating income based on the underground operations that you install in these properties.

GTA: Vice City is probably the most entertaining game I have ever played. Replay value is over the top; in fact, most people I know just like to go around stealing fast cars and killing people instead of doing the missions. Making things explode, getting chased by cops, and killing innocent pedestrians makes for a surprisingly fun time. Nothing wrong with this game but the fact that everything you do seems so right. Vice City gets a perfect 5 on our scale of awesomeness.
